Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivers his speech addressing the nation in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Friday, February 25, 2022. Russian troops bore down on Ukraine's capital Friday, with explosions and gunfire sounding in the city as the invasion of a democratic country fueled fears of wider war in Europe and triggered new international efforts — including direct sanctions on President Vladimir Putin — to make Moscow stop. What a modern example of a hero! A hero is defined as “a man who acts in a moment of time on a need greater than self.”
This President is leading by example. He’s in the war, not running from it. He’s dressed in camouflage carrying a weapon! When he was offered evacuation, he opted to stay with his men. His perseverance is inspiring his nation and giving them the resolve to fight on.
God give us more real men! I, for one, applaud his heart. My prayer is that we as the “land of the free and home of the brave,” will begin to act in a consistent manner. Talk is cheap.
My mentor Dr. Ed Cole said, “there are some things in life that are more important than life itself.”
The Alamo in Texas, where 114 men stood against 3,000 knowing they would die, is an example of real manhood. The Ukrainian people are doing the same thing. David vs. Goliath.
